Opportunities to Serve :-
Rather than duplicate resources that are
already easily available on the World Wide Web, this page lists just a few
links to other web sites giving useful information on the many and varied
opportunities to serve that presently exist. The list is by no means
comprehensive - please do advise us of any other resources that you would
like to see added!
Click on any of the images below to go direct
to the relevant web site. All of these links will open in new windows -
please close the new window to return to this page. The Rotary District 1260
Community and Vocational Service Committee

The Association of Children's Hospices is the
national voice for children's hospice services and the children and families
they care for. We strive to ensure that the estimated 20,000 life-limited
children in the UK, and their families, have access to the unique range of
services children's hospices provide.

Hearing Dogs For Deaf
People
|
◄
Nearly nine million of the UK population
experience some degree of hearing loss. That’s one person in every seven.
Over 650,000 of these people are severely or profoundly deaf and could
benefit from a hearing dog. Hearing dogs change lives. They alert their deaf
owners to sounds we take for granted, providing greater independence,
confidence and security. Most are selected from rescue centres or donated as
unwanted pets.

The Prostate Cancer Charity
|
◄
Prostate cancer was for so long a neglected
health issue - neither understood by the public nor prioritised by
politicians. By any dimension, prostate cancer simply didn’t register on the
radar screen. It was against this background that The Prostate Cancer
Charity was set up in 1996. In its relatively short life, the Charity has
played a key role in raising both public awareness of the disease and
political debate about services and support.
