RIBI Community & Vocational Service Award

The award has become recognised throughout RIBI and is a very successful club initiative within local communities to give prestigious recognition of achievement. The RIBI Community & Vocational committee consider that the most appropriate people to identify the nominees are from clubs themselves.

Purpose :-

  • The purpose of the Community & Vocational Service award is to recognise outstanding service to the local community by Rotarians or non Rotarians alike.

How to Enter :-

Each case will be different and should be judged on its own merit, therefore it is difficult to set down a specific criteria for clubs to follow. However, the RIBI Community & Vocational Service Committee feel that clubs should perhaps take into account the following guidelines when considering a nomination for the award :-

  • The nominee must have carried out an act, or acts, beyond and above what would normally be accepted. The nomination must relate to matters which impressed the nominator and which stimulated change within their own community.

  • The person nominated can either be a Rotarian or a person from within the local community. However, it should be impressed that the certificates should only be awarded to those persons who are worthy of the recognition.

  • The nominated person must agree to accept the award and be made aware of the possibility of newspaper coverage, particularly at a local level.
