Update on Club Case
Study: Rotary Club of Great Missenden
Links and World Community Service Project with
Rotary Club of Thane Hills (near Bombay, India)
12 January 2002
This is an update on an earlier story about how links were established with Rotary Club of Thane Hills, firstly through Gujarat relief aid and then a project.
The project to donate playground equipment for the disabled children in a school was completed in January 2002. The equipment was locally sourced.
These photos were taken by Ravi Kumar, our main contact at their club - two days before a formal inauguration and handing over ceremony. Appropriately, the chief guest for the occasion was the UNICEF representative in the State of Maharashtra.
A copy of the formal invitation is appended. Great Missenden Club's contribution was only a small part of an overall project by Thane Hills Club to help their local school with the garden, computers etc.
