MILLENNIUM PROJECT UPDATE
"GIVE IT MAX.." CAMPAIGN for
Hope and Homes for Children

Report by Les Lee, District 1260 International Committee Chairman
10 Sep 2001

Do you remember "GIVE IT MAX"?

I am pleased to say that I have received a message from the Rotary Foundation that the last of the three Matching Grants for PDG Paul Denton's Millennium Project for Hope and Homes for Children has been approved.

I realise it has taken some time, so to remind you about the projects.

They were:

1. To provide equipment and furnishing for 5 family type homes for orphan children in Odessa Ukraine $13,765

2. To provide the same for 5 family type homes for orphans in Sumi Ukraine $14,050

3. To renovate and furnish a Mother and Baby unit in an orphanage in Sarajavo and renovate a playground and provide security fencing and equipment. $11, 382

The above amounts will all be matched by the Rotary Foundation.

These projects could not have been carried out without the support and efforts that all clubs gave to this project during PDG Paul Dentons year. Paul has asked me to pass on his sincere appreciation to everyone "WHO GAVE IT MAX" of course not forgetting DG Mike Gardner who was the Project Leader and International Service Chairman.

For those who doubt the true value of supporting the Rotary Foundation, here is a true International Service reason for your continued support and contributions.

Thanks a million.

Les Lee
District International Chairman
