An update on

- Letter from the

Letter from Les Lee
Hi Guru
Your work is spreading and appreciated by those far away. You will recall
the letter you put in the Site from Roxy D.
Well I have now received a message direct which says she checked out our
site. I attach a copy of her letter to us.
Nice to have this sort of feedback.
*******************************************************************
I have just heard from Joy Baker, who has suggested
that I write to you.
I read
through your web site (including my letter to her) and found out some more
background to the donation that we received. It was great to read up about how
the schoolAid project has come about, but more importantly the amount of work
involved.
I want to thank you most sincerely for the wonderful
gifts that we received for our school. A little goes an awfully long way in
Africa, and the work and time that you and your team have put in is hugely
appreciated. I, personally, thank you, but also express appreciation on behalf
of all involved at our school.
The furniture has now been installed in our new
library and into some of the classrooms. Both the staff and the children are so
proud of their new acquisitions and we have had many "visitors" to
the school recently, checking things out!
School is out on holiday at the moment, but as soon
as term starts again, I will be sending some letters, photographs and drawings
from the children. These will be sent to Joy Baker who, I am sure, will pass
them on to you.
During these times of tremendous stress and unrest, I
think it important to continue with as much development as possible. I am sure
that you have seen the appalling things going on in an area to the north of us.
This causes tremendous feelings of uncertainty within the farming community,
both black and white. If we can all show that we are committed to our country
and determined to try and make things work, then eventually things will turn
around again. Giving the children a sense of stability is very important, and
that is what I am trying to do within our school. Your generosity was
tremendously well received and lifted the spirits of many, for whom life is pretty
grim at the moment.
We thank you so much
Yours sincerely
Roxy Danckwerts
