How did we do? ... the Matrix for 2001-02

[Details of previous year, 2000-01 are in a separate page]

Stop press... in Apr 2003: Congrats to everyone ... our District 1260 wins the Connecticut Trophy (a large rose bowl). It is awarded each year to a District in RIBI which has made outstanding contribution in the field of International Understanding. Les Lee had the honour of collecting it at the RIBI Conference in Blackpool in April. He states: "It  reflects and recognises all the hard work and effort that clubs in this district put into International Service during the year 2001 / 2002. Congratulations for this achievement and I salute you for making an International Difference in the world and from those who benefited from your work". [April 2003]

A special "Thank You" from Les Lee ...... "You will all see from the results that this year has been an exceptionally good year in District 1260 for International World Community Service Activities. Clubs have done so much to achieve the fourth objective of Rotary and this has been the highest level of club reports received for many years. Your efforts have benefited many people perhaps by saving lives or making living that much better. On behalf of the District, RIBI and all those people you have helped... Thank you."

Summary and value of Projects:

The approximate total financial amounts shown by Clubs in District 1260 for projects in the RIBI Library and other club projects is  £81,905.  Taking into account those who have not declared an amount and other donations in kind, it is safe to assume the total figure for International Service activities during 2001 / 2002 was in excess of £160,000.

Background to the survey:

The information is gathered via a standard questionnaire. Clubs were requested to send completed questionnaire to the chairman of the International committee by 31 July 2002.  (List of clubs who have not responded are in the appendix on the far left hand column of this page).

The following is an extract from a detailed matrix. You can see:

A full copy of the matrix and special projects can be obtained from the chairman of the District International Committee.
